Airport Greeter Job Description

Several identified people will be coming to the International Lions Convention and arriving at the Airport at least one week prior to the official dates of the convention which is July 6-10. For most of the arrivals during this early period, we will know who and when they arrive at least a month before the convention starts. Of course the majority of the attendees will be arriving on July 4-5. The number of volunteers that will be needed has not been determined but during the busy days we will need at least four per shift and a more limited number when the International family, District Governors, District Governor Elects and others come in early in the week of July 29th.

Duties:

  • Wear volunteer “dress” which is our official blue shirt, Khaki pants, and the furnished convention hat.
  • Be familiar with the choices for using all types of transportation from the airport to their hotel.
  • Be familiar in getting guests from the baggage claim area to their choice of transportation.
  • Be somewhat familiar with the Convention schedule but the details for that can be obtained at their hotel or later at the convention center.
  • Assist them in getting the necessary help in getting their luggage to the site of the transportation.
  • And most important, you may be first person they met from Minnesota so make a very good first impression upon our State and on the Lions from 5M.
